Woman Killed in Car Accident on Highway 80 near Dixon Avenue in Dixon
Dixon, California (April 12, 2021) – A Solano County woman was killed in a car accident in Dixon early Sunday morning.
According to a local news source, the accident happened on Interstate Highway 80 near Dixon Avenue at about 2:38 a.m. April 11.
A black Mazda CX5 was traveling on the roadway when it rear-ended a silver Hyundai Elantra.
The Mazda came to rest blocking lanes of the roadway.
A short time later, a red Toyota Tacoma pickup truck collided with a silver Toyota Prius driven by a 26-year-old Suisun City woman.
The Toyota Tacoma continued and struck the Mazda and its driver, a 31-year-old Vallejo man, who was standing outside the vehicle.
The police said the Toyota continued forward and hit a 47-year-old Dixon woman who was among the good Samaritans who stopped to help at the scene.
The unidentified Dixon woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Tacoma, who has since been identified as 29-year-old Mason Wessel, was arrested for felony DUI.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
