Vista, California (July 31, 2021) – The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Bureau has identified the man who died Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle in Vista as William Emeno, 68, of Vista.

The deadly pedestrian crash happened at about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, on Sycamore Avenue near Green Oak Road.

Authorities said Emeno was attempting to walk across the road when a vehicle traveling southbound on Sycamore Avenue hit him.

Pedestrian Dies after Being Struck by Vehicle in Vista

Responding paramedics transported Emeno to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, where he later succumbed to his injuries at around 9:45 p.m.

No other details about the crash were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
