Watsonville, California (June 20, 2021) – At least one person was seriously injured in a Watsonville collision that happened Sunday afternoon on Highway 129.

The California Highway Patrol said the incident occurred at around 12:14 p.m. at the intersection with Coward Road.

A silver GMC Terrain collided with another vehicle head-on for unknown reasons. The vehicles were traveling at about 50 mph when the crash occurred.

Both vehicles were blocking the roadway after the wreck.

The report said at least one person suffered major injuries in the accident. An ambulance was sent to the scene to help the patient.

CHP is working to determine the cause of the accident.
