Vanessa Seagraves ID’d as Woman Killed in Stanton Pedestrian Accident on Beach Boulevard at Chapman Avenue

Stanton, California (October 2, 2019) – The pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle early Sunday morning in Stanton has been as Vanessa Seagraves, 32, according to authorities.
The deadly pedestrian accident happened at around 12:29 a.m. Sunday, September 29 on Beach Boulevard at Chapman Avenue.
Authorities said Seagraves was crossing Beach Boulevard at Chapman Avenue when she was hit by a newer-model white Toyota that was traveling in the southbound lanes.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and performed CPR on Seagraves. Despite resuscitation efforts, Seagraves did not survive and was declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the Toyota stopped at the scene and complied with investigators. Alcohol or drugs were not suspected factors in the crash.
A witness told the authorities that the pedestrian was crossing against the traffic and the Toyota had a green light.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
