Teen Bicyclist Dies Days after Being Hit by Car on Santa Barbara Street near Palm Avenue

Santa Paula, California (October 3, 2020) – A teenage bicyclist who was critically after being hit by a car last month in Santa Paula has died.

The bicycle accident happened on the evening of September 23, in the 100 block of West Santa Barbara Street near Palm Avenue between Main and Santa Paula streets.

The teenager was riding a bicycle in the area when he was hit by a car.

The bicyclist sustained serious injuries and was taken to Ventura County Medical Center in critical condition.

He was later transported to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles where he remained in the intensive care unit. The Santa Paula Police Department said the teen died on Wednesday, September 30.

The authorities did not immediately disclose the name of the victim.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
