48-Year-Old Mother, 18-Year-Old Son Hospitalized after Serra Mesa Accident on Aero Drive near Sandrock Road
Serra Mesa, California (December 3, 2020) – A mother and her son were seriously injured Wednesday morning in an alleged DUI crash in Serra Mesa, according to a local news source.
The major injury collision occurred at about 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 2 on Aero Drive near Sandrock Road.
Authorities said a 48-year-old woman was driving eastbound on Aero Drive when her Audi SUV was struck from behind by a Tesla that was traveling at approximately 90 miles per hour.
The force of the impact pushed the SUV into a tree.

The driver of the SUV and her 18-year-old son sustained major injuries and were taken to a local hospital where they underwent surgery.
The man driving the Tesla was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence,
