SDPD Officer Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 5 in San Ysidro
San Diego Police Officer among 2 Injured in San Ysidro accident on Interstate near State Route 905
San Ysidro, California (November 25, 2020) – A San Diego police officer was among two people who were injured Wednesday afternoon in a multi-vehicle accident in San Ysidro, according to a local news source.
The major injury accident transpired at about 4:20 p.m. on southbound Interstate 5, just south of Highway 905, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Several vehicles were reported to have collided on the roadway in unclear circumstances.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and extricated one of the drivers who was trapped in the wreckage.
The freed driver was then taken to a hospital with major injuries. A San Diego police officer who was also involved in the accident sustained minor injuries.
Traffic on the roadway was stopped until about 5:45 p.m. due to the accident.
An investigation into the mishap is underway.
