San Diego, California (November 25, 2020) – Logan Krapf, 14, of Ramona, has been identified as the teenager who was hit and killed by a pickup truck as he was riding his skateboard on Tuesday evening in San Diego Country Estates, authorities said.

The deadly accident happened just before 7:30 p.m. in the 24000 block of Barona Mesa Road near La Plata Court.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2001 Ford F-150 pickup, driven by a 20-year-old Ramona man, was eastbound on Barona Mesa when the accident occurred.

The Ramona man went around a left curve and encountered three teenage boys, two on skateboards and one on a bicycle, also traveling eastbound on the roadway, the officials said.

Unfortunately, the Ford F-150 pickup struck Krapf, who was riding his skateboard in the middle of the eastbound traffic lane, the CHP said.

Sadly, Krapf, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
