Santa Cruz, California (March 19, 2019) – A suspected drunk driver was arrested after striking and injuring three pedestrians in Santa Cruz on Saturday evening, according to the CHP.

The incident happened at about 6:30 p.m. March 16, on East Cliff Drive and Assembly Way.

The pedestrians, a family of three from Lathrop, were sitting on a wall and were facing the ocean when Tarmo Hannula, 65, of Santa Cruz, lost control and careened into them.

3 Pedestrians Hurt in Santa Cruz Crash

The three victims, identified as two females aged 14 and 47, and a man aged 49,  were transported to the hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

Hannula was arrested and charged with two felony counts of DUI causing bodily injury.
