Santa Clarita, CA: Hit-and-Run DUI Accident on Highway 14 near Sand Canyon Road
1 Injured in Santa Clarita Crash on Highway 14 near Sand Canyon Road; DUI Driver Arrested
Santa Clarita, California (November 4, 2020) – One person was injured, and another was arrested following an alleged DUI crash Tuesday night in Santa Clarita, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The accident happened at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 3, in the northbound lane of Highway 14, just north of Sand Canyon Road.
Authorities said a sedan and another vehicle collided for unknown reasons in the northbound lane of Highway 14.
The force of the impact caused one person to be ejected from their vehicle. The victim was transported to a local hospital in an unknown condition, the authorities said.
One of the drivers involved fled the scene on foot, but the CHP later located him. Investigators determined that he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the accident.
The driver was eventually arrested for felony DUI charges.
The crash remains under investigation.
