Dennis Smith Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 246 in Buellton
Dennis Smith Hospitalized after Buellton Accident on Highway 246 at Tularosa Road

Buellton, California (November 4, 2020) – Dennis Smith, 57, of Lompoc, has been identified as one of the two people who were injured early Saturday morning in a traffic accident on a highway west of Buellton.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash involving two vehicles happened at around 5:00 a.m. Saturday, October 31, on the westbound side of Highway 246 at Tularosa Road.
The CHP said a Nissan Altima, driven by a 28-year-old Lompoc man, was heading westbound on Highway 246 at a high rate of speed when it rear-ended a Honda Accord at Tularosa Road.
After the impact, the Accord careened across the eastbound lanes and crashed into a guardrail before it came to a stop in the traffic lanes. The Altima went about 150 feet down an embankment.
Smith was transported to Lompoc Valley Medical Center with minor injuries while the driver of the Altima was taken to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria with major injuries including a broken neck.
It is undetermined if drugs or alcohol were factors in the accident.
