1 Killed in San Pablo Car Accident on westbound Interstate 80 at San Pablo Dam Road
San Pablo, California (October 2, 2020) – One person was killed Friday evening in a single-vehicle crash in San Pablo, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly accident, which was reported at around 5:52 p.m., happened on westbound Interstate 80 at San Pablo Dam Road.
As per the CHP report, a sedan was traveling on westbound Interstate 80 when, for an unknown reason, it slammed into a cement pillar near San Pablo Dam Road.
The sedan caught fire after the crash.
Deadly San Pablo Single-Car Crash on Interstate 8
One person died at the scene. The name of the victim was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Several lanes of westbound I-80 were closed due to the crash. As of 9:00 p.m., all lanes were reopened to traffic.
The accident remains under investigation.
