San Diego, CA: Major Injury Big Rig Crash on Highway 52 near Convoy Street

San Diego, California (March 11, 2021) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a major injury crash that happened early Thursday morning, leaving at least one person severely injured.

The crash involved a big rig and a mini cooper.

Authorities said the vehicles collided at around 4:28 a.m. on eastbound Highway 52 near Convoy Street.

The mini cooper possibly crashed into the back of the semi for unknown reasons.

First responders found the mini cooper in the center divider with major front-end damage and the big rig on the right-hand shoulder.

The report said at least one person was severely injured in the crash. An ambulance was requested to take the person to the hospital.

The cause of the crash will be established when authorities conclude their investigation.
