Motorcyclist Killed in San Diego Crash on Pacific Highway near Interstate 5 Tuesday
San Diego, California (June 4, 2019) – A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday morning in a collision with a car in the Midtown area of San Diego, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The tragic crash was reported just before 5 a.m. on the off-ramp from Interstate 5 to Pacific Highway.
Details on how the accident occurred were not immediately available, but the CHP officer said the motorcyclist was speeding prior to the collision.
Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Midtown Tuesday
The rider died in the accident. The name of the victim has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the car was not injured in the crash.
The off-ramp was closed as the CHP investigated the accident. Traffic along Pacific Highway was blocked between Sassafras Street and W Washington Street.
The crash remains under investigation.
