Sacramento County, California (June 14, 2021) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured Sunday afternoon following a traffic crash at an intersection in Sacramento County, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The major injury collision was reported at around 2:23 p.m. Sunday, June 13, in the area of Highway 16 and Ione Road. Highway 16 is also known as Jackson Road.
According to the CHP, the motorcyclist was reportedly traveling in the area when, for an unknown reason, they collided with a blue sedan.

The motorcyclist sustained major injuries and was transported by emergency responders to a local hospital.
The intersection of Highway 16 and Ione Road was temporarily closed due to the wreck. It was unclear whether the driver of the sedan stopped at or fled the scene after the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
