Ryan Ferrara Killed in DUI Motorcycle Crash on Piping Rock Lane in El Cajon
Ryan Ferrara ID’d as Man Killed in El Cajon Motorcycle Accident on Piping Rock Lane

El Cajon, California (July 20, 2020) – The man who was killed Saturday night in an alleged DUI crash involving a motorcycle in El Cajon has been identified as Ryan Ferrara, 39. He was an engineer with the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
The deadly collision happened at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, July 18 in the 13000 block of Piping Rock Lane.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2018 Harley-Davidson was heading westbound on Piping Rock Lane when, for unknown reasons, it slammed into a parked vehicle. Both occupants of the motorcycle were ejected upon the impact.
Ferrara, who was riding on the back of the motorcycle, was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the motorcycle, a 36-year- old El Cajon resident, was also taken to the hospital with major injuries. Their condition was not immediately disclosed.
Intoxication was believed to have been a factor in the accident.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
