Bonnie Breault ID’d as Pedestrian Killed in Grass Valley Crash on Highway 49 at South Auburn Street

Grass Valley, California (July 20, 2020) – Authorities have identified the woman who died after being struck by a vehicle Friday afternoon in Grass Valley as Bonnie Breault, 39, of Grass Valley.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly accident happened at about 2:30 p.m. on July 17, on Highway 49 at South Auburn Street.
The police said an Isuzu cargo truck was exiting the highway when it failed to stop at the bottom of the off-ramp and crossed South Auburn Street.
The truck then struck Breault, who was standing on the sidewalk just outside Grass Valley Charter School. After the impact, the vehicle continued and crashed into the wall of the school.

Breault died at the scene of the accident.
Firefighters responded to the incident and extricated the truck driver who was trapped inside the vehicle. The driver, identified as Murio McEachin, 51, of North Highlands, was then transported to Sutter Medical Center in Roseville with major injuries to his legs.
Authorities said alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
