Rosa Garcia Killed in Echo Park Crash on Sunset Boulevard near Douglas Street
Echo Park, California (January 25, 2020) – A woman was killed in a hit-and-run collision on Thursday morning in Echo Park, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The incident took place in the area of Sunset Boulevard near Douglas Street at around 7:45 a.m. January 23.
Police said a 2019 BMW M4 was heading west on Sunset Boulevard when it drifted into the path of oncoming traffic and collided with an eastbound 2004 Toyota Corolla. The driver of the BMW fled the scene on foot after the crash.
The driver of the Toyota, Rosa Garcia, 61, of Los Angeles, was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
Woman Killed in Echo Park Car Crash on Sunset Boulevard
Police have identified Ilya Foks, a 39-year-old man, as a suspect in the incident. Foks is being sought by the police.
The crash remains under investigation.
