Romulo Hocson Dies in Sacramento Pedestrian Crash

Sacramento, California (March 28, 2019) – The man who was struck and killed by a man riding an electric bicycle Saturday evening at an intersection in Sacramento has been identified as Romulo Mariano Hocson, 73, of Sacramento, according to the Sacramento coroner.

The tragic accident was reported at around 5:00 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at the intersection of H Street and San Miguel Way.

Authorities said Hocson was crossing H Street when he was hit by the oncoming electric bicycle ridden by a 54-year-old man.

Hocson was knocked to the ground upon the impact.

Paramedics responded to the scene and took Hocson to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. He later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

The 54-year-old man was also taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

H Street between 39th Street and San Antonio Way was shut down as authorities investigated the cause of the accident.
