Robert Brown Arrested after Lake Elsinore Car Accident at Blackwell Boulevard and Grand Avenue
Lake Elsinore, California (January 26, 2019) – The suspected drunk driver who caused a traffic accident that injured three people Saturday morning at an intersection near Lake Elsinore has been arrested, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash took place shortly before 3:00 a.m. at the intersection of Blackwell Boulevard and Grand Avenue in Lakeland Village.
The CHP said a Ford Mustang driven by Robert Brown, 35, of Lake Elsinore, was traveling eastbound on Blackwell Boulevard when its driver failed to stop for a red light and was hit by a Honda SUV that was heading southbound on Grand Avenue.
The impact of the crash caused the Mustang driver to be partially ejected from his vehicle because he was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver sustained major injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The SUV was pushed down the embankment and into a tree. The two occupants sustained moderate injuries and the driver, only identified as a woman in her 20s, was taken to a hospital. The passenger did not need hospitalization.
Brown was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
The crash remained under investigation.
