Northridge, California (January 26, 2019) – Two people were killed and four others were injured Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision in Northridge, according to a local news source.

The deadly wreck was reported at about 2:08 p.m. in the 17500 block of Parthenia Street.

The vehicles involved were described as a sports coupe and a sedan. Details on how the two vehicles collided were not immediately available.

A passenger of the coupe was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the coupe sustained grave injuries and was transported to a hospital, where the coupe’s driver succumbed to their injuries.

Emergency crews extricated the driver and front passenger of the sedan who were trapped in the wreckage. They were then transported to a hospital in critical condition.

Two rear passengers of the sedan sustained major injuries and were also taken to the hospital.

The names of the deceased and the injured victims have not been released.

Authorities shut down Parthenia Street between White Oak and Louise avenues following the accident.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
