Driver Injured in Riverside Car Accident on 91 Freeway near Interstate 15
Riverside, California (August 12, 2020) – A driver was injured Wednesday afternoon in a multi-vehicle crash triggered by a couch that fell onto a freeway in Riverside, according to a local news source.
The accident, which was reported at around 4:30 p.m., happened in the westbound lane of 91 Freeway, just east of Interstate 15.
The California Highway Patrol said a truck was traveling on the 91 Freeway when a sofa fell from the truck into the fast lane, causing a collision involving a Nissan Xterra SUV, Kia sedan, a Toyota Camry, and a Nissan sedan.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and rendered aid to the Toyota driver, who sustained a gash to the head in the crash. It was unknown if the patient was transported to a hospital for further treatment.
Two of the involved vehicles acquired major damage and were towed away from the scene of the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
