Person Killed in Richmond Pedestrian Accident near Parr Boulevard

Richmond, California (August 13, 2020) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak train Wednesday night in Richmond, according to authorities.
The deadly accident happened at about 7:17 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, near the 700 block of Parr Boulevard.
Authorities said the pedestrian was hit by Amtrak’s Capitol Corridor train no. 547 near Parr Boulevard for unknown reasons.
The pedestrian, described as an adult, died at the scene. The name of the victim was withheld pending notification of family.
None of the 43 passengers or crew members aboard the train were injured.
The accident remains under investigation.
