Saratoga, California (August 13, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a Wednesday night fiery two-vehicle crash that killed one person and left five others injured in Saratoga.
The deadly crash happened at about 11:20 a.m., on August 12, at the intersection of Highway 85 and Saratoga Avenue.
According to the police, a white sedan collided with a gray pickup truck on the roadway in unclear circumstances.
As a result of the collision, the white sedan was stuck on an embankment and caught fire while the pickup truck sustained significant front-end damage, the officials said.

A man in his 70s sustained fatal injuries in the accident. He was one of the occupants of the sedan.
Two occupants of each vehicle were transported to hospitals, three of them with major injuries.
Two other witnesses sustained minor injuries as a result of the accident and were aided at the scene.
Traffic on Saratoga Avenue was stopped in both directions due to the accident. The off-ramps from Highway 85 to Saratoga Avenue were also closed.
