15-Year-Old Boy Suffers Major Injuries in Bakersfield Motorcycle Accident on Highway 46 at Martin Avenue

Bakersfield, California (August 12, 2020) – A juvenile motorcyclist was seriously injured Sunday night in a traffic accident in Bakersfield, according to a local news source.
At about 8:45 p.m. Sunday, August 9, the California Highway Patrol officers received a report about the accident on Highway 46 at Martin Avenue.
According to the CHP, a 15-year-old boy was riding a Honda 185 motorcycle southbound on Martin Avenue at an unknown speed, approaching Highway 46 when he failed to stop at a red light and travelled into the path of a 2006 GMC that was heading westbound on Highway 46 at approximately 55 mph.
Major Injury Motorcycle Accident in Bakersfield
The motorcyclist was transported to Kern Medical with major injuries. His name and current condition of the rider were not immediately disclosed.
Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the collision.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
