Richard Murphy Hurt in Fatal Tehama County Crash on South Avenue near Mary Avenue
Tehama County, California (March 24, 2020) – Richard Murphy, 64, of Chico was injured in a fatal collision between a big rig and another vehicle near Corning in Tehama County Sunday night.
According to the CHP, the wreck happened on South Avenue near Mary Avenue at about 10:30 p.m. March 22.
CHP said a 2011 Nissan Altima was traveling eastbound on South Avenue when it swerved into the westbound side and collided with a 2015 Mack semi-truck pulling a trailer.

The driver of the Nissan, identified as a 45-year-old man, was killed in the crash.
Murphy was the driver of the big rig and was treated for minor injuries.
The CHP is working to determine the cause of the wreck.
