Alpine Woman Killed in Lakeside Car Crash on State Route 67 near Foster Truck Trail

Lakeside, California (March 24, 2020) – An Alpine woman was killed in a multi-vehicle collision that occurred near Lakeside on Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened on State Route 67 near Foster Truck Trail just before 7 a.m. March 23.
According to CHP, a 37-year-old Alpine woman was driving a Toyota Yaris northbound on SR 67 when she lost control and drifted into the southbound side, where she collided head-on with an oncoming Chevrolet Silverado 3500 pickup.
The impact sent the pickup into the northbound side, where it was hit by a Chevrolet HHR station wagon. The HHR was then rear-ended by a Chevrolet 1500 pickup while the Chevrolet 3500 was hit by a Toyota Prius.
Woman Killed in Lakeside Car Crash on SR 67
The Alpine woman, whose name was not released, died in the crash.
The driver of the HHR was transported to UCSD Medical Center in San Diego with major injuries. The other drivers and one of the passengers were treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Authorities said alcohol and drugs did not appear to be factors in the crash.
The incident is under investigation.
