Porterville, California (October 20, 2020) – A 15-year-old boy died following an alleged hit-and-run bicycle accident last week Friday night in Porterville, a local news source reported.

The boy was riding his bicycle westbound near the intersection of Olive Avenue and North Newcomb Street when he was hit by a vehicle at about 10:40 pm. on October 16.

The California Highway Patrol did not immediately establish how the collision occurred.

The involved motorist, 23-year-old H. Torres, did not stop to render aid and fled the crash site.

Man arrested after Porterville Hit-And-Run Bicycle Accident

The bicyclist died at Sierra View District Hospital while undergoing treatment of major injuries sustained in the wreck.

Police later arrested Torres in connection to this accident.

Neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected factors in the crash. An investigation into the accident is underway.
