Woman Killed, 3 People Hurt in Car Crash on 14 Freeway near Sierra Highway in Santa Clarita

Santa Clarita, California (October 20, 2020) – A Lancaster woman was killed in a car accident that left three other people injured in Santa Clarita on Sunday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 6:34 p.m. October 18, on the northbound Antelope Valley (14) Freeway north of Sierra Highway.
A flatbed truck owned by Castaic Tow was traveling northbound on the freeway when it rear-ended a 2015 Nissan.
A 48-year-old Lancaster woman who was a passenger in the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 17-year-old boy who was also a passenger in the Nissan was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The 53-year-old driver of the Nissan and a 12-year-old passenger were hospitalized with minor injuries.
The 25-year-old man who was driving the tow truck was unhurt.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
