Patricia O’Donnell Dies in Los Angeles Skateboard Crash on Pershing Drive and Campdell Street

Los Angeles, California (February 14, 2020) – A woman was killed in a hit-and-run collision that led to the arrest of one person early Thursday morning in Playa Del Rey, according to Los Angeles police.

The crash happened shortly before 1:30 a.m. February 13, in the area of Pershing Drive and Campdell Street.

According to investigators, Patricia Ann O’Donnell, 48,was skateboarding in a business parking lot when she went into the street and was struck by a car traveling northbound on Pershing Drive.

Emergency crews responded to the incident and found O’Donnell unconscious. The crews performed life-saving efforts but O’Donnell succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

The driver of the car fled the scene after the crash but was later tracked down and arrested. The suspect was identified as Patrick Finkelstein, 45, of Santa Monica.

Finkelstein was booked on charges of vehicular manslaughter while driving under the influence and is being held on $100,000 bail.

The incident is under investigation.
