Daniel Spring Killed in San Jose Train Crash near State Highway 87 and VTA Curtner Station

San Jose, California (February 14, 2020) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident involving a train in San Jose early Monday morning, according to the authorities.
The Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office has identified the victim as Daniel Leon Spring, 37.
The deadly collision took place at about 5:45 a.m. February 10, near State Highway 87 and the VTA Curtner station.
According to investigators, Spring was walking on the tracks when he was struck by a Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority light-rail train traveling south.

Spring was killed in the accident.
No other injuries were reported.
The crash shut down the train service and passengers were transported by bus shuttles.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
