Elderly Arizona Woman Killed in Inyo County Crash on U.S. 395 and Gill Station Coso Road

Inyo County, California (February 14, 2020) – An elderly woman from Arizona was killed in a traffic accident involving a big rig on Thursday afternoon in Inyo County.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly wreck happened at around 2 p.m. February 13, on U.S. 395 near the Coso Road Rest Area.

CHP said 78-year-old Robert Frost, of Green Valley, Arizona, was operating a 2016 Nissan Versa westbound on Gill Station Coso Road when he failed to yield while entering U.S. 395 and was hit by a 2014 International, driven northbound on U.S. 395 by 37-year-old John Stiegler, of Ridgecrest.

The impact caused the Nissan to roll into the center divider of the highway.

Arizona Woman Killed in Inyo County Collision on U.S. 395

An 88-year-old woman from Sahurita, Arizona, who was a passenger in the Nissan, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Frost was airlifted to a hospital in Bakersfield.

No other injuries were reported.

The CHP is investigating the incident.
