Pedestrian Dies in Northridge Train Crash on Balboa Boulevard near Roscoe Boulevard

Northridge, California (January 4, 2019) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Metrolink train on Thursday evening in Northridge, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The crash happened at about 5:10 p.m. January 3 in the 8300 block of Balboa Boulevard near Roscoe Boulevard.
Firefighters said the pedestrian was struck by train number 117 heading to Ventura County.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity was not immediately released.
The train was stopped at the scene as investigators examined the site.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
