North Highlands, California (May 20, 2021) – A pedestrian was struck and seriously injured by a vehicle Wednesday night at a North Highlands intersection, authorities said.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the major injury pedestrian crash was reported at around 10:23 p.m. Wednesday, May 19 at the intersection of Watt and Myrtle avenues, near the Walmart Supercenter.
CHP said the pedestrian was hit by a vehicle at the North Highlands intersection in unclear circumstances.
Pedestrian Injured After Being Hit by Car in North Highlands
The pedestrian sustained major injuries and was transported by emergency responders to a local hospital. The name and condition of the patient were not immediately disclosed.
It is unclear whether the driver remained at or fled the scene after the crash.
The intersection of Watt and Myrtle was closed as the investigation took place.
The accident remains under investigation.
