Modesto, California (June 5, 2019) – A boy was struck and injured by a vehicle while riding a bicycle on Monday evening in Modesto, according to Modesto police.

The incident took place shortly before 7 p.m. June 3, on Redwood Avenue near High Street.

Police said a 12-year-old boy was riding his bike eastbound on Redwood Avenue when he was struck by a 2005 Dodge Ram driven northbound on High Street by David Azceta.

Boy Injured in Modesto Bicycle Accident

The boy was transported to a hospital with major injuries. His identity was not released.

Azceta was not hurt in the collision.

Police said alcohol or drugs were not believed to be factors in the collision.

The incident is under investigation.
