Person Sustains Minor Injuries in Mission Viejo Pedestrian Accident on Jamboree Road

Mission Viejo, February 13, 2019 – A pedestrian was struck and injured by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon in Mission Viejo, according to police.
The accident took place in the 25800 block of Jamboree Road Tuesday, February 12.
Police said local diners were outdoors eating Mexican fare at Los Golondrinas Mexican Restaurant when for an unknown reason a white Infinity sedan careened up and over the sidewalk.
The sedan then hit a pedestrian, destroyed a cement trash enclosure and caused severe damage to the strip mall store.
The pedestrian sustained minor injuries in the accident. It was immediately unclear if the victim was treated at the scene or was transported to the hospital for further treatment.
The sedan acquired front end damage in the crash.
A portion of the building was cordoned off for public safety and as of 3:00 p.m. city building inspectors were on the scene to determine the structural integrity of the building.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
