Manuel Villalpando ID’d as Man Killed in Gardena Industrial Accident on W 178th Street
Gardena, California (February 13, 2019) – The worker who was killed Monday afternoon while performing maintenance on the inside of a large machine in Gardena has been identified as Manuel Villalpando, 61, according to authorities.
The tragic accident happened at an unspecified time Monday, February 11 at German Machined Products Inc. shop at 1415 W 178th Street.
According to the authorities, Villalpando was performing maintenance on a metal-cutting machine when the machine was turned on with him inside.
First responders arrived at the scene and found Villalpando deceased. Police said he had worked at the business for about a year.
No further details were immediately available, and the police are investigating the crash.
