Michael Campbell Killed in Santa Rosa Pedestrian Accident on Highway 12 near Middle Rincon Road

Santa Rosa, California (March 17, 2019) – A man was killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident in Santa Rosa early Friday morning, according to the authorities.
The incident happened at about 1:20 a.m. March 15, on Highway 12, just west of Middle Rincon Road.
Police said Michael John Campbell, 25, of Santa Rosa, was walking along the roadway when he was struck by a mid-size pickup truck that left the scene after the incident.

Emergency crews responded to the incident and located the body of Campbell on the westbound shoulder of the highway.
The driver later turned himself in after the incident. Police conducted an inspection on the suspect’s vehicle, a 2008 Mitsubishi Raider truck, which showed damage consistent with the accident. The driver is facing charges of felony hit-and-run.
The incident remains under investigation.
