Man Dies in Merced Motorcycle Accident at Beachwood Drive and Ashby Road
Merced, California (April 15, 2021) – A motorcyclist died following a Tuesday night traffic accident northwest of Merced, authorities said.
The deadly crash was reported at around 11:23 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, at the intersection of Beachwood Drive and Ashby Road.
According to California Highway Patrol, a 32-year-old Merced man was riding a 2008 Suzuki GSX-R1000 southbound on Beachwood Drive, approaching the intersection with Ashby Road when, for unknown reasons, he lost control and was thrown off the bike.
The rider and the motorcycle then struck signs on the southbound shoulder of Ashby Road.
Deadly Merced Motorcycle Accident at Beachwood Drive and Ashby Road
The motorcyclist was declared dead at the scene despite life-saving measures performed by medical personnel. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
It was not immediately clear whether intoxication played a role in the accident.
