Merced, CA: Fatal Big Rig Accident on Highway 99
One Person Killed in Merced Crash on Highway 99 near V Street

Merced, California (June 17, 2021) – One person was killed in a Wednesday night big rig accident in Merced, authorities said.
The deadly accident transpired at about 11:00 p.m., on June 16, on Highway 99, south of V Street.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle crashed into the back of a big rig for undetermined reasons near a road construction area.
Sadly, the driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
It was not clear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
