Merced, CA: 2 Motorcyclists Seriously Injured in Crash on Interstate 5
Man, Woman Airlifted after Merced Motorcycle Accident on Interstate 5 near Shields Avenue

Merced, California (June 24, 2021) – Two motorcycle riders were seriously injured in a Thursday traffic collision in Merced, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The major injury crash happened on Interstate 5 near Shields Avenue exit.
CHP said a man and woman were riding separate motorcycles on Interstate 5 when a car veered onto the wrong side of the road and struck them.
As a result of the crash, the car and one of the motorcycles burst into flames.
2 Severely Injured in Merced Collision
The two motorcyclists sustained major injuries and were airlifted to a hospital. Both are expected to survive.
The driver of the car, a man in his 90s, had minor injuries.
No further details about the crash were immediately provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
