Summit, California (January 14, 2021) – Mason Holbrook, 18, of Los Gatos, has been identified as the man who was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash in Summit, according to the Santa Cruz County Coroner’s Office.

The deadly accident happened at about 6:00 p.m., on January 13, on Summit Road between Fils and Timmus Lane.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 1968 Chevrolet pickup, driven by Holbrook, was headed eastbound on Summit Road approaching Timmus Lane when it veered off the roadway and crashed into a tree.

The vehicle lost control and went into a private driveway, smashed into a metal gate and wooden fence, flipped over, and caught fire, the officials said.

Sadly, Holbrook was pronounced dead at the scene.

Traffic on the roadway was stopped for an unknown period due to the mishap.

The crash remains under investigation.
