Man Killed, 3 Injured After Car Slams Into Back of VTA Bus on West San Carlos Street in San Jose
40-Year-Old Man Killed, Three Hospitalized after San Jose Rear-End Collision on West San Carlos Street near South Buena Vista Avenue
San Jose, California (July 3, 2020) – A man was killed and three others were injured after a car crashed into the back of a VTA bus in San Jose Friday afternoon, according to a local news source.
At around 5:16 p.m., emergency personnel responded to the crash on West San Carlos Street near South Buena Vista Avenue.
Reports from authorities show that the bus was pulling up to a bus stop on West San Carlos Street when, for unknown reasons, it was rear-ended by a Mitsubishi, driven by a 40-year-old man.

The driver of the Mitsubishi was pronounced dead at the scene while his 30-year-old male passenger sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
Another passenger in the Mitsubishi, a 36-year-old man, was also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The VTA bus driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Two adult passengers on the bus were not injured in the accident.
The bus sustained minor damage following the crash.
West San Carlos Street from Meridian Avenue to South Bascom Avenue was shut down as authorities investigated the crash. The road was expected to be reopened by 9 p.m.
