Two Killed, Four Injured in Lucerne Valley Car Accident on Highway 18 near Custer Avenue
Lucerne Valley, California (July 3, 2020) – Two people were killed and four others were hospitalized Friday morning after a traffic accident involving two vehicles in Lucerne Valley, according to a local news source.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly collision happened at about 6:44 a.m. on Highway 18, just west of Custer Avenue.
A Nissan Altima, driven by a 36-year-old Nuevo man, reportedly veered into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a Mazda CX-5, operated by a 69-year-old Lucerne Valley man.

The Nissan driver and the front seat passenger in the Mazda were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Mazda was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Three passengers in the Nissan were transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.
The CHP said all occupants were wearing their seat belts at the time of the collision. Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the accident.
The names of the deceased and the injured parties have not been disclosed.
