Livermore, California (January 6, 2019) – One person was killed after a motorcycle accident Sunday afternoon between Livermore and Tracy, according to a local news source.

The accident happened at around 1:06 p.m. Sunday, on 580 Freeway near the Grant Line Road Off-ramp.

As per the report, a motorcycle and an SUV crashed for unknown reasons. A third car reportedly hit the motorcyclist a while after the initial collision.

Responding emergency crews confirmed one fatality as a result of the accident. The deceased’s name was withheld awaiting notification of next of kin.

Officials closed the left and middle lanes for around two hours following the accident. All lanes were open as of 3:13 p.m.

It remained unclear if the weather was a factor in the collision.

An investigation is ongoing by the CHP and Alameda County coroner’s office.
