Leroy Jefferson Jr. ID’d as Rider Killed in Bakersfield Motorcycle Crash on 5 Freeway near Grapevine Road

Bakersfield, California (May 5, 2020) – The authorities have identified a motorcyclist who died in a Saturday evening accident in Bakersfield.
Leroy Jefferson Jr., 56, of Los Angeles, was killed in the crash that happened at about 7:00 p.m. May 2, on Interstate 5 Freeway, just south of Grapevine Road.
According to the police, Jefferson Jr. was driving a Harley Davidson in the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 when he crashed into the rear of a semi-truck. The circumstances that led to the crash are yet to be established.

Jefferson Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash.
All lanes of Interstate 5 were closed following the mishap.
