Bakersfield, California (April 12, 2021) – A single-vehicle rollover crash has claimed the of at least one person Monday morning in Bakersfield, authorities said.

The deadly accident happened at about 8:07 a.m. on the southbound side of Interstate 5, just south of Highway 119, according to the California Highway Patrol reported.

According to the CHP, a white SUV reportedly overturned multiple times on the roadway and eventually came to rest in a ditch.

At least one person died in the crash. The name of the victim has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.

No further details about the crash were immediately provided.
