58-Year-Old Larry Mitchell ID’d as Man Killed in Hyde Park Crash at Arlington Avenue and West 48th Street
South LA, California (September 24, 2019) – The man who was fatally run over by a vehicle on Sunday night in the Hyde Park neighborhood has been identified as Larry Mitchell, 58, of Compton, according to the authorities.
The incident took place shortly before midnight September 22, in the area of Arlington Avenue and West 48th Street.
Police said Mitchell was lying on Arlington Avenue next to his bicycle when a vehicle struck him. A first driver who spotted the man drifted to avoid him but the second driver was unable to swerve in time.

Mitchell was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver who hit the victim stayed at the scene and reportedly cooperated with the investigators.
Police are investigating the incident.
