Woman Killed in La Jolla Bicycle Accident on North Torrey Pines Road near La Jolla Village Drive
La Jolla, California (June 24, 2021) – A bicyclist died after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon in La Jolla, according to authorities.
The deadly bicycle accident occurred at around 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, June 23 on the southbound side of North Torrey Pines Road near La Jolla Village Drive.
Authorities said a 34-year-old woman was riding his bicycle in the right lane when she merged into the left lane and was rear-ended by a 2005 Mercedes-Benz SL500 driven by a 74-year-old man.

The woman, whose name was being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the collision.
No further details about the crash were immediately provided.
