Sonoma County, California (June 24, 2021) – A woman was injured in a Sonoma County hit-and-run collision in the area of Valley Ford on Tuesday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident took place on Valley Ford Road and Tomales Road just before 8 p.m. June 22.

CHP said a 2012 Honda Civic was heading east on Valley Ford Road when it was hit by an older blue or green Nissan sedan that was making a turn from westbound Valley Ford Road onto Tomales Road.

The driver of the Nissan fled the scene heading west on Tomales Road after the incident.

A 61-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the Civic, was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital after she complained of pain.

Authorities said the suspect vehicle was a 2002-2010 Nissan Altima that sustained damage to the grill, front bumper cover, and headlights. 

The incident is under investigation.
